Small victories

Wow, I didn’t realize how much last week affected me, with Decker being hurt and not sleeping well.  I got to spend some much needed time with my two best friends, Vanessa and Rachae on Friday night.  We had dinner at Via Tribunali (delicious wine and pizza) and then caught up at their apartment.  I got to watch the Grey’s Anatomy season finale, which I have been dying to see ever since I saw the preview the week before.  I cannot believe Lexie died so early on in the episode!  Anyways, it was great to have a night with the girls and to catch up with them, since I don’t get to see them nearly as much as I’d like these days.

(For those who may be wondering, no I did not get rid of my real camera.  Just been on an iPhone/Instagram kick lately.)

And God bless Scott.  I think he knew how exhausted I was and he really spent a lot of time with Decker this weekend to let me rest and get some stuff done around the house.  On Saturday, he took D to a play date for most of the afternoon and today, went to Costco (on a Sunday, when it is a madhouse).  He filled my tank up with gas and grabbed some stuff AND took Decker along.  I was able to get 9 loads of laundry done this weekend and got around to doing something that has been on my to-do list for at least 4 months…wash my makeup brushes.  (This was my small victory for the weekend.)

Clean brushes…finally!

Decker’s wrist keeps improving everyday and he is acting a bit more like his normal, happy self.  However, he still hates it when I lay him down to change his diaper.  I’m hoping he gets over it soon because it makes diaper changes extremely difficult.  I’m looking forward to this week being a bit more normal…and restful.

  1. First of all, I want to say that I get SUCH a kick when I get to wash my make brushes…..doesn’t it feel like the LAST thing on the list that never gets done? ha And girl……just caught up on your blog. Hang in there…..sounds like the terrible twos for boys are a lot more “physical” than with girls. You are doing amazing. Motherhood is SO hard…..and all we can do is support each other during the crazy times and remind ourselves that there are so many great times too. Oh, and amen for coffee. We should we get together sometime and catch up while they kids run around at the park……..xoxo

    • Thanks so much, M! It is hard to get anything done when Decker wants to be with me 24/7 when I am home. LOL. Yes, we should take the kids to Les Gove park one of these days! 🙂
